What's covered
- Sewer Line Repair & ReplacementRepeated backups, slow drains on the lowest floor, sewage smell in the yard or roots in the line usually point to a damaged sewer lateral. We start with a camera inspection so you can see the cracks, offsets, bellies or root intrusions for yourself. From there the options are a spot repair, a full replacement by open trench, or a trenchless method (pipe bursting or cured-in-place lining) when the line and the site allow it. The written scope covers access points, permits, restoration of the yard or driveway, and the final inspection.
- Whole-Home RepipingLow pressure across the house, rusty water, recurring pinhole leaks and older galvanized or polybutylene lines are the classic signs it is time to repipe. A whole-home repipe replaces the water supply lines from the main shut-off to every fixture, usually with PEX or copper. The job is planned room by room with small, targeted wall and ceiling openings, water service kept running as much as possible during the work, pressure testing before walls are closed, and patching included in the scope.
- Water Heater & Tankless InstallationWhether the old tank is leaking, the family has outgrown it, or you want to move to tankless, the right unit depends on your hot water demand, gas supply, venting route, water hardness and available space. We size the system, handle the gas and venting work, the expansion tank and code-required safety parts, and haul away the old unit. For tankless conversions the scope spells out any gas line upsizing or new venting so there are no surprises.
- Drain Cleaning & Hydro-JettingA cable machine punches a hole through a clog. Hydro-jetting scours the full diameter of the pipe with high-pressure water, clearing grease, scale, sludge and fine roots. It is the right tool for main drains that keep slowing down, kitchen lines in restaurants and multi-unit buildings, and lines being prepared for lining. A camera pass before and after shows the condition of the pipe and whether a repair is needed.
- Commercial Plumbing & Backflow PreventionFor property and facility managers: plumbing rough-ins and fit-outs for tenant improvements, restroom and kitchen build-outs, domestic water and drain line upgrades, commercial water heaters, and backflow prevention device installation, repair and annual testing where your municipality requires it. Scopes are written so they can go straight into a capital plan or a landlord and tenant work letter.
- Stormwater & Catch Basin ServicesParking lot catch basins fill with sediment, salt residue and debris, and once they are full the next heavy rain ends up at the loading dock or the building entrance. We clean catch basins and storm lines with vacuum and jetting equipment, camera-inspect storm laterals, and repair or rebuild damaged basins and frames. Cleaning can be set on a schedule that matches your site and any municipal stormwater requirements.
- Sump Pump & Backwater Valve InstallationIf water has come up through a floor drain or seeped in during a big storm, a backwater valve on the main sewer line and a properly sized sump pump are the usual fixes. A backwater valve stops city sewer water from flowing back into the basement. A sump pit and pump, ideally with a battery backup, handle groundwater around the foundation. Installation involves cutting the basement slab, so the scope covers concrete work, permits, and any city rebate paperwork that applies.
How the work is handled
- Built for Big JobsSewer replacements, full repipes, tankless conversions and commercial work. This is the work we are set up to quote and plan properly.
- Camera Before QuoteFor sewer and drain work, the line gets inspected before anyone prices a dig. You see what we see.
- Options Side by SideTrenchless or open-cut, spot repair or full replacement, tank or tankless. You get the trade-offs in writing, not a single take-it-or-leave-it number.
- Permits and InspectionsWork that needs a permit gets one, and the scope notes which inspections your city requires.
- Homes and Commercial BuildingsSingle-family homes, multiplexes, condos, retail, offices and light industrial. Same process, scaled to the building.
By climate
- Long, cold winters with heavy snow and a short, warm summerFrozen pipes in outside walls and crawl spaces are the classic winter call, and burst lines often show up only when they thaw. Spring snowmelt then tests sump pumps and backwater valves, so ask about insulating exposed pipes in fall and testing the sump before the thaw.
- Wet maritime weather, salt air, many freeze-thaw cycles and storm-driven rain and snowStorm-driven rain and frequent freeze-thaw put heavy loads on sump pumps, catch basins and old sewer laterals. Salt air also corrodes outdoor fixtures and backflow devices, so ask whether the quote covers a camera inspection of the sewer line and a check of exterior valves.
- Four seasons: humid summers, cold winters with snow and repeated freeze-thawFreeze-thaw shifts the soil around old sewer lines, and tree roots looking for water crack clay pipes over time. Heavy summer storms then overload drains and basements, so ask about a camera inspection, a backwater valve and a sump pump with battery backup.
- Hot, humid summers, mild winters, heavy storms and in coastal areas hurricanes; pests and mold all yearPipes rarely freeze, but heavy rains, high water tables and shifting clay soils put constant stress on sewer lines and slabs. Tree roots grow year-round and invade drains quickly, so ask about hydro-jetting schedules and how storm flooding is kept from backing up into the house.
- Desert heat, strong sun and UV, dust, monsoon downpours, very little freezingHard water leaves heavy scale in water heaters, fixtures and pipes, which shortens their life and slows flow. Ground movement in dry soil can also crack sewer lines and slab plumbing, so ask about water treatment options and a leak check under the slab.
- Dry, high-altitude climate with strong UV, big day-night swings, snow and freeze-thawCold nights freeze lines in garages, crawl spaces and outdoor spigots, while hard water builds scale inside heaters and fixtures. Spring snowmelt can overwhelm drains, so ask about frost-free hose bibs, pipe insulation and a sump check before the melt.
- Mild, wet marine climate: long rainy seasons, moss and moisture, little hard freezing near the coastLong rainy seasons keep drains, catch basins and sump pumps working hard, and saturated soil pushes water toward foundations. Moss and leaves clog storm drains quickly, so ask about regular catch basin cleaning and a camera check of older sewer lines where roots like to settle.
- Dry summers and wet winters, wildfire smoke and ash, earthquakes, almost no snow on the coastEarthquakes can crack sewer lines and loosen gas and water connections, so flexible fittings and a strapped water heater matter. Dry summers draw roots into pipes looking for water, then winter rains test the drains, which makes a camera inspection before the wet season worth booking.
- Extreme cold, permafrost in places, very short building season and remote freightFrozen lines can shut a home down quickly, so heat tracing, insulated pipe runs and well-protected water entries come first. Where permafrost shifts the ground, pipes need flexible connections, and since parts may take weeks to arrive, keeping key spares on hand is wise.

Questions
How do I know if my sewer line needs a repair or a full replacement?
A camera inspection answers that. A single cracked joint or one root intrusion can often be fixed with a spot repair. Repeated backups, a belly (sagging section) that holds water, a collapsed or badly offset pipe, or an old clay or cast iron line that is failing in several places usually points to replacement. The video shows the condition and the location of each defect.
Is trenchless sewer replacement always possible?
No. Trenchless methods (pipe bursting and cured-in-place lining) need a line that can be accessed at both ends and a path that is not fully collapsed or badly sagged. Local code, the pipe material, the depth and nearby utilities also matter. When trenchless does not fit, a targeted open-cut repair is the answer, and we tell you why.
What are the signs a house needs repiping?
Galvanized steel or polybutylene supply lines, low water pressure on several fixtures at once, rusty or discolored water, repeated pinhole leaks in copper, and a history of patch repairs. Whole-home repiping replaces the supply lines (usually with PEX or copper) through small, planned wall openings that get patched afterward.
Tank or tankless water heater: which one fits my home?
It depends on how much hot water you use at once, the gas line size, venting options, water hardness and the space you have. Tankless units need correct gas supply and venting, and hard water calls for a softener or regular descaling. We size the unit to your actual demand and explain the trade-offs.
Do you work on commercial buildings?
Yes. Tenant improvement rough-ins and fit-outs, domestic water and drain upgrades, water heater replacements, and backflow prevention device installation and testing where your municipality requires it. Facility and property managers can send several sites through the same quote request.
Do you still handle stormwater and catch basin work?
Yes. Catch basin cleaning, storm line jetting and camera inspection, and repairs to catch basins and storm laterals on commercial lots and multi-unit properties remain part of what we do.
Do I need a backwater valve or a sump pump?
If your basement sits below the sewer connection or you have had water come up through a floor drain, a backwater valve is worth a look. If groundwater is the issue, a sump pit and pump (with a battery backup) is the usual fix. Some cities offer rebate programs for these installs, so check with your municipality before work starts.
